You know, it's very seldom that truly bofhish things (as compared to bofhish ideas) happen, around here, at least. So, I had to share the sequence of events that occurred on a local help newsfroup today:
Luser posts mundane question from "Tom and Jane" <jane@foo>, but signed "Thanks, Tom"
Admin replies nicely to question, and points out that accounts here aren't to be shared, and that Tom shouldn't be using Jane's account.
Luser posts from "Tom and Jane" <jane@foo> again, thanking for answer but sort of laughing at the idea that Tom shouldn't be using Jane's account. Signs, "Tom".
Time passes.
Luser posts from "Tom and Jane" <jane@foo>, asking why he's not able to connect to the machine on which her email account resides, signed "Tom".
Admin points out that the account is blocked, because of account sharing.
Luser posts again, noting how silly that is.
Comes to attention of other admin that user with disabled account is still using dialup pool, so dialup account is also disabled.
Whee, what a string of self-LARTs. :-)
